What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, like your preferences, so the next time you come back things work the way you expect. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and tracking pixels — we treat them the same way for the purposes of consent.
Categories of cookies we use
We split cookies into three categories. You can change your choice at any time by opening the cookie settings panel.
1. Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for the site to function. They do not track you and you cannot turn them off via consent (you can still block them in your browser, but parts of the site may break).
2. Analytics (off by default)
These help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. They are loaded only after you give consent. We use Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager.
3. Marketing & embedded content (off by default)
These power embedded third-party features such as the Calendly scheduling widget and ad-attribution. They are loaded only after you give consent. If you do not consent, the inline calendar shows a prompt asking you to accept marketing cookies, and you can still book a call by emailing hello@rginsys.com or filling in our contact form.
Your choices
When you first visit the site we show a banner with three options:
- Accept all — turns on analytics and marketing cookies.
- Reject non-essential — only strictly necessary cookies are used.
- Customise — choose analytics and marketing independently.
You can change your choice at any time by clicking the Cookie Settings link in the footer or by following this link. Your decision is stored locally in your browser for 365 days.
How we comply with GDPR / UK GDPR / PECR
We treat consent as the lawful basis for setting non-essential cookies in the UK and EU. The banner blocks analytics and marketing scripts until you consent, choices are recorded with a timestamp, and refusing is as easy as accepting. Strictly necessary cookies are set under the legitimate-interest exemption in PECR (services explicitly requested by the user).
Third-party processors
For the cookies above we rely on Google (Analytics & Tag Manager), Calendly (scheduling), and Formspree (form submissions; does not set browser cookies). Their privacy policies live on their own sites. The full list of sub-processors is on our security page.
